Job summary

Alcoa's Portland Aluminium Smelter is seeking a Capital Procurement Lead to drive procurement strategy and delivery across a portfolio of capital projects. You will report to the Procurement Manager – Capital in Perth and provide commercial leadership to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.

Based at Portland, you will oversee end-to-end sourcing, contracting and supplier performance, balancing value, schedule and governance while building strong relationships with project,

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated procurement and contract management experience supporting capital projects.
• End-to-end experience across procurement planning, sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contracting and supplier performance management.
• Experience in industrial, resources, manufacturing or similarly complex project environment is desirable.
• Sound commercial judgement and understanding of project delivery, contract risk, cost drivers and supply markets.
• Ability to work with autonomy, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a changing environment.
• Effective stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including the ability to navigate complex commercial matters and explore alternative perspectives.
• Experience providing functional leadership, supported by systems capability and ethical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital procurement planning and delivery across Portland Aluminium Smelter’s portfolio of capital projects.
• Develop fit-for-purpose procurement and commercial strategies that support safe, timely, cost-effective and compliant project delivery.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting for critical and complex capital packages.
• Provide commercial leadership throughout the contract lifecycle, including supplier performance, change management and contract close-out.
• Maintain effective procurement governance and manage commercial, supply, contractor and delivery risks.
• Partner with project, engineering, operational and functional stakeholders to support effective commercial decisions.
• Provide functional leadership, coaching and delivery oversight to the site-based capital procurement specialist.
• Monitor procurement performance, milestones, risks and value outcomes, maintaining alignment with the broader capital procurement team.
