UGL Regional Linx is seeking a Signal Electrician - Rail for a long-term, permanent role based in Bathurst, NSW. You will maintain rail signalling systems, perform inspections and repairs, and support other teams on site.

The position offers a 9-day fortnight roster, competitive hourly rates from $73.55 to $78.81, potential overtime penalties, and opportunities to work across regional NSW on a project contracted to 2032.

Qualifications

• Signal Electrician with Cert IV Electrical (Rail Signalling)
• Previous signalling experience
• Competent in fault rectification, testing, commissioning & decommissioning of signalling systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• White card
• Class C driver’s licence (HR preferred)
• RIW card preferred
• Rail maintenance background and technical understanding
• Intermediate computer literacy

Job description

Signal Electrician - Rail UGL Regional Linx operate and maintain the NSW Country Regional Network (CRN). UGL Regional Linx are currently looking for an experienced Signal Electrician - Rail seeking a long-term opportunity with a leading Rail Operator. This is a permanent position, based in Bathurst NSW. Signal Electricians are required to assure the ongoing safety of the rail networks signalling systems. You will be responsible delivery of maintenance activities, these include performing maintenance inspections, identifying and repairing of signalling defects, the diagnosis and repair of signalling faults as well as supporting other business groups deliver their works. This role will be working on a 9 day fortnight roster, with working away from home requirements from time to time.

• Industry leading hourly rates, base hourly rates starting at $73.55 and up to $78.81 (pending qualifications and experience) plus opportunities for overtime that incur additional penalty rates

Your Role as a Signal Electrician - Rail: As a Signal Electrician - Rail you will be responsible for conducting maintenance inspections and repairs as per UGLRL’s Technical Maintenance Plan, identifying and repairing signal mechanical faults and attending failures to diagnose and correct signalling faults.

About You

• Signal Electrician Assessed & hold a Cert IV Electrical (Rail Signalling)
• Previous Signalling experience
• Competent in fault rectification, testing, commissioning & decommissioning of Signalling Systems
• Strong ability to interpret/read technical drawings
• Excellent Communication skills
• Time Management skills
• White card
• Class C Driver’s licence essential (HR preferred)
• Hold a current RIW card (preferable)
• Rail maintenance background and technical understanding
• Intermediate computer literacy skills
