Boss Sign Group in Melbourne’s Coburg area seeks an experienced Signage Graphic Designer – Production & Pre-Production. The role focuses on detailed drawings, production file prep and ensuring accuracy for CNC routing, laser cutting and fabrication.

This is not an entry-level position; proven signage industry experience and the ability to translate designs into production-ready files are essential. The candidate will work closely with design and production teams to keep jobs on track.

Qualifications

• Proven signage industry experience and understanding of signage construction and manufacturing processes.
• Experience preparing signage approval drawings, shop drawings and production-ready files.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, site measurements and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities while collaborating with a production team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed signage elevations, customer approval drawings and technical shop drawings.
• Interpret architectural plans, site measurements, photographs and technical specifications.
• Convert approved artwork into accurate, production-ready files.
• Prepare files for CNC routing, laser cutting, large-format printing and fabrication.
• Develop construction and fabrication details for 3D letters, illuminated signage, lightboxes and ACM panels.
• Determine suitable materials, construction methods and fixing systems.
• Ensure drawings and production files are accurate and ready for manufacturing.
• Identify and resolve technical or production issues before manufacturing.
• Work closely with design and production teams to ensure efficient job progression.
• Provide hands-on technical and production support in the workshop when required.
