Job summary

Country Road Group is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to advance our Shopify Plus eCommerce platform. You will develop themes, apps and functions, build GraphQL queries, and integrate Shopify with core business systems.

The role involves AWS services and modern front-end tech, contributing to scalable, high-performing storefronts. You will partner with Digital Product, eCommerce and technical teams to rollout platform capabilities across the group, ensuring accessibility and performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Full Stack Engineering or Shopify development experience in retail/eCommerce.
• Strong Shopify expertise across Liquid theming, Admin and Storefront GraphQL APIs, Functions, metafields and metaobjects.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, React.js, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience integrating Shopify with external platforms via GraphQL/REST APIs; exposure to iPaaS platforms like Workato is advantageous.
• Familiarity with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, Secrets Manager) and CI/CD processes.
• Knowledge of responsive design, WCAG accessibility, and web performance tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify Liquid themes and front-end features using TypeScript, JavaScript and React.js.
• Build and optimize Shopify Admin and Storefront GraphQL queries and mutations across catalogue, pricing, inventory, orders and customer data.
• Develop and support Shopify Functions, metafields, metaobjects, app/theme extensions and multi-region catalogue configurations.
• Design and implement integrations between Shopify and core business systems using GraphQL/REST APIs; collaborate on Workato flows.
• Contribute to backend and integration services with Node.js/TypeScript and AWS (ECS Fargate, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, Secrets Manager).
• Execute high-volume data operations across product/pricing/metafield/gift card/customer data with safe, resumable patterns.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions for platform rollouts across Country Road Group.
• Collaborate with Analytics/SEO/CRO/UX teams to improve performance and customer experience.
• Participate in code reviews and evolve engineering standards, patterns and documentation.
