Job summary

Qualships Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Ships Master / Chief Engineer to join our marine team. The company provides surveys, inspections, technical services, and supplies across Australia and internationally, with a team of Masters and Marine Engineers.

The role involves navigating vessels, managing crews, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with surveyors and port authorities to support inspections and certifications.

Qualifications

• AQF Associate Degree or Diploma required, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as Ship Master/Ships Engineer or related field.
• Experience with AMSA, Paris MoU and MARPOL regimes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and command vessels in accordance with international conventions and Australian law.
• Travel across Australian ports to apply master-level navigation and crew management.
• Plan voyage safety, cargo handling, and stowage operations.
• Direct crew management and watchkeeping planning.
• Oversee inspections and regulatory readiness activities.
• Coordinate with marine surveyors and port authorities.
