Job summary

JBS Australia – Northern Shipping & Docs team seeks a Documentation Officer to handle shipping documentation for various markets and vessels. Based at Riverview, Ipswich, you will prepare forwarding instructions, obtain Bills of Lading and health certificates, prepare invoices and packing lists, and arrange Certificates of Origin and Letters of Credit.

You will ensure all files are completed and archived within 14 days of sailing, write ship files, monitor ETDs, and provide ad hoc support as

Qualifications

• Experience in documentation and/or shipping is advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations with strong customer service focus.
• Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Able to work autonomously and within a team.
• Takes initiative and looks for improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare forwarding instructions and obtain original Bills of Lading and health certificates.
• Prepare invoices and packing lists; arrange Certificates of Origin.
• Manage banking drafts, lodgements and processing Letters of Credit.
• Print Bills of Lading for shipping lines managed in-house.
• Complete additional documentation to meet customer or country requirements.
• Write ship files as allocated by the Documentation Supervisor; monitor ETDs and email docs to customers.
• Archive all files within 14 days of sailing; coordinate lodgements.
• Provide ad hoc support as directed by the Documentation Manager.
