The Role

The Shift Manager – Robotics is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, performance, and continuous improvement of automated robotic welding cells.

You will lead a team of operators to deliver safe, high‑quality, and efficient production outcomes, while working closely with Engineering and Maintenance to optimise robotics performance and maximise uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Leading daily operations of robotic welding cells to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Ensuring WHS compliance and the safe operation of robotic equipment
• Monitoring and improving production KPIs including throughput, quality, and utilisation
• Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance teams to optimise robotic programs, tooling, and uptime
• Leading, training, and developing team members across the shift
• Driving lean initiatives, process improvements, and best‑practice methodologies

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a supervisory or shift leadership role within manufacturing
• Hands‑on experience with industrial robotic welding systems (VALK or similar highly regarded)
• Background in metal fabrication and welding processes
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
• Confident people leader with strong communication skills
• High‑energy, practical, and results‑driven mindset
