Job summary

Chini Company in Australia is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead our production team in the food manufacturing sector, with a focus on noodles. You will report to the Factory Operations Manager and drive safety, quality, and efficiency across shifts.

The role demands strong people management, excellent communication, and a hands-on approach to maintaining production standards, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with logistics and customer service teams.

Qualifications

• Proven team leader with a focus on collaboration, quality and efficiency.
• Strong background in Food Manufacturing or a Degree/Diploma in Food Science or Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong people management skills with focus on continuous improvement and team engagement.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards.
• Ensure products are manufactured consistently and meet quality standards and production instructions.
• Supervise and ensure hygiene & safety standards are followed.
• Manage manpower: hire, train and coach production team members.
• Keep working areas clean and in good order.
• Maintain machinery with adequate preventive maintenance.
• Identify and address production issues promptly.
• Manage raw ingredients inventory and coordinate with Order & Delivery Manager.
• Maintain batch and lot records documentation.
• Support on-schedule market launches of new products.
• Gap runner for Sydney area only.
• Communicate with delivery personnel, production team and customer service.
• Organise interstate stock transportation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards.
• Ensure that finished food products are manufactured consistently and meet the required quality standards and production instructions.
• Supervise and ensure compliance with personnel hygiene & safety standards.
• Manage manpower: hire, train and coach Production Team Members to meet job requirements.
• Ensure all working areas are kept clean and in proper working order.
• Ensure adequate maintenance of machinery.
• Identify and address production issues.
• Manage raw ingredients inventory records and communicate with Order & Delivery Manager regarding ready-to-go inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation of batch and lot records.
• Ensure on-schedule market launches of new products in accordance with business unit.
• Gap runner - Sydney area only.
• Maintain open communication with delivery persons, production team and customer service representatives.
• Provide customer support related to deliveries, including missed deliveries, damaged packages, or incorrect items.
• Organise and oversee interstate stock transportation.
