Job summary

CSR Limited is hiring a Mechanical Fitter for their Gyprock manufacturing site in Coopers Plains, QLD. This full-time role operates on a rotating roster (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) and involves maintenance and breakdown work under supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing or building background and a Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (or equivalent), with strong health, safety and environmental awareness and good attendance.

• Manufacturing or building background preferred.
• Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or equivalent required.
• Good attendance and health and safety awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational machines at Gyprock site.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks.
• Perform fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
• Carry out repairs or modifications as directed by supervisor.
• Engage in fitting, welding repairs and pneumatics work.
• Maintain safe working practices and housekeeping.

About the role

The Mechanical Fitterroleis aFull-timeposition, based at Coopers Plains, QLD. Reporting to the Manager at our Gyprock manufacturing site, you will be working on a shift roster assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be required to have a manufacturing or Building background, Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or similar, have good attendance and have a strong awareness and regard for health, safety and the environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintaining operational machines in our Gyprock manufacturing site.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks.
• Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
• Complete repairs or modifications as requested by your supervisor.
• Fitting, welding repairs and Pneumatics.
• Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
