Job summary

Night n Day Group in Caringbah, NSW, is seeking an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our production team. You will sew stretch fabrics, elastics, zippers and multi-layer garments to exacting standards, using industrial sewing machines including overlockers and twin-needle setups.

Applicants should have proven commercial sewing experience, be detail-oriented, reliable and able to meet production deadlines in a busy high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Proven sewing experience in a commercial or sample machining role.
• Experience sewing stretch fabrics, elastics, zippers and multi-layer garments.
• Able to operate industrial sewing machines, overlocker and related equipment.
• Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read patterns, follow specs and maintain high quality.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable and able to meet production deadlines.
• Friendly, organized and able to work in a small team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Industrial Sewing Machinist with experience sewing stretch fabrics, elastics, zippers, and multi-layered garments. As an experienced Sewing Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality products to specification, ensuring consistency, accuracy and quality across every garment.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven sewing experience in a commercial or as a sample machinist in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise sewing stretch fabrics, elastics, zippers and multi-layered garments.
• Proficiency operating industrial sewing machines, overlocker, plain sewing, flatlocker and twin-needle machines.
• Sound knowledge of fabrics, materials, sewing techniques and garment construction.
• Ability to interpret sewing patterns, follow measurements and detailed specifications, and consistently produce garments to a high standard of quality and finish.
• Attention to detail, self-motivated with quality workmanship and the ability to meet production deadlines.
• Reliable, organised and comfortable with practical, hands‑on work.
• A friendly attitude and the ability to work well within a small production team.
