Responsabilités

• Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture fabric products and components.
• Sew mattress covers, bedding and other fabric items.
• Work with various fabrics and materials.
• Follow patterns, measurements and production specifications.
• Cut and prepare fabrics when required.
• Perform upholstery sewing tasks as part of production.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
• Assist the wider team with general production tasks.

Operating from our factory in Clontarf on Brisbane's northside, approximately 20 minutes north of Brisbane Airport, we pride ourselves on quality Australian-made products, skilled workmanship and a supportive team environment.

We are expanding our manufacturing team and are looking for 3 experienced, reliable and motivated Industrial Sewing Machinists to join us in full-time positions.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture a variety of fabric products and components used across our mattress, bedding and foam product ranges.

This is a varied production role involving different sewing techniques, materials and product specifications, including some upholstery sewing work.

You'll work alongside our experienced manufacturing team while also being responsible for completing your own allocated tasks independently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture a range of fabric products and components
• Sewing mattress covers, bedding products and other manufactured fabric items
• Working with a variety of fabrics and materials
• Following patterns, measurements and production specifications
• Cutting and preparing fabrics and materials for sewing when required
• Performing upholstery sewing tasks as part of the wider production process
• Ensuring finished products meet our quality and workmanship standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workspace
• Working efficiently to meet production requirements and deadlines
• Supporting the wider manufacturing team with general production tasks when required

About You

We're looking for experienced, dependable individuals who take pride in producing quality work.

Previous industrial sewing machinist experience is essential for these positions. Applicants must already have the practical skills to confidently operate industrial sewing machines in a commercial or manufacturing environment.

• Have proven experience as an industrial sewing machinist
• Be confident operating industrial sewing machines
• Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Be reliable, organised and able to manage their workload effectively
• Be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
• Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Be able to follow instructions, patterns and production specifications accurately
• Be adaptable and comfortable working across different products and materials
• Take pride in their work and have a practical, can-do attitude

Experience That Would Be a Bonus

The following skills and experience would be highly regarded but are not essential:

• Pattern making and fabric cutting experience
• Previous experience sewing mattress covers, bedding or similar manufactured products
• Upholstery sewing experience
• Experience working with a variety of industrial fabrics and materials
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
