Job summary

Auto & General (A&G) invites a Head of Settlements to lead the Settlements department, overseeing managers, team leaders and motor claims consultants to deliver fair, efficient settlements with insurers.

You will analyse claims data, drive process improvements and automation, and establish strong negotiation approaches while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Leading three sites across SE Queensland and offshore, you will foster a unified, high-performance team.

Qualifications

• 10 years of leadership experience in insurance or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of motor insurance claims management and applicable legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to connect data insights with technology to optimise performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement settlements strategies for fair, efficient outcomes.
• Oversee day-to-day settlements operations with regulatory compliance and KPI monitoring.
• Monitor performance and report trends to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement through process automation and efficiency gains.
• Identify and mitigate settlement risks and manage disputes with counterparties.
