Budget Direct in Australia is seeking a Head of Settlements to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Settlements department across three sites in SE Queensland and offshore. You will work with the Third-Party Settlement & Recoveries Leadership Team and GM to guide managers, team leaders, and motor claims consultants toward honest, efficient settlements with insurers and other parties.

You will analyse claims data, drive process improvements, and establish effective negotiation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in insurance or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of motor insurance claims management and related legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement settlements strategies delivering efficient, honest, and fair outcomes.
• Lead and motivate the Settlements team across three sites, fostering high performance and integrity.
• Oversee day-to-day settlements operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and KPI performance.
• Identify and mitigate settlement risks and manage disputes with counterparties.
