Job summary

BESIX Watpac is seeking an experienced Services Manager to join our Queensland Construction team on the expansion of a major correctional facility in Wacol. You will work within a large project team to design and oversee mechanical, electrical, security and hydraulic services, ensuring the documentation meets specifications, budgets and schedule.

You will lead the integration of building services with other disciplines, monitor progress and quality, and contribute to the final handover,

Qualifications

• Qualifications in a relevant Engineering or trade discipline (electrical engineering or trade preferred).
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale building services packages (MEP, ICT/BMS, hydraulic).
• Sound understanding of statutory legislation and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage design of Building Services documentation packages (Mechanical, Electrical, Security & ICT, Hydraulic).
• Collaborate with Project Manager to meet specifications, budgets and programme for construction.
• Identify cost savings and assist with product selection to achieve best value.
• Monitor workshop drawings, as-built documents, progress and quality of works.
• Support final handover including documentation, authorities, warranties and training.

Job Description

BESIX Watpac is seeking an experienced Services Manager to join our Qld Construction team on the expansion of a major correctional facility in Wacol. Working as part of a large collaborative project team, the key responsibilities of this position include:

• Manage the design of Building Services documentation packages across the project, including Mechanical, Electrical, Security & ICT as well as Hydraulic.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the developing documentation meets the required specification, cost budgets and programme for construction works.
• Together with the project team, identify applicable cost savings and assist with product selection and problem solving to achieve best value for money.
• Progressively monitor the production of workshop drawings and as built documents.
• Monitor progress and quality of the works, installation and commissioning on the project.
• Participate in the final handover of the building including submission of final documentation, as built documents, authority approvals, warranties, training and guarantees.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

• Qualifications in a relevant Engineering or trade discipline (electrical engineering or trade preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects, managing complex building services packages and integrated systems e.g. mechanical, electrical communication/ICT/BMS and hydraulic.
• Sound understanding and application of statutory legislation and the relevant services Australian Standards.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills through development of effective relationships with team members, consultants and subcontractors.
