Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Warehouse Technician in Queensland to diagnose and repair batteries and chargers, manage stock in the ERP system, and support field service as needed. The role includes loading, unloading, packing and dispatch, with emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping.

You will perform fault-finding, maintenance and test activities, while ensuring compliance with safety, QA and customer requirements. Forklift operations and occasional travel are involved.

Qualifications

  • Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel locally.
  • Current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift.
  • Experience in warehousing, inventory control, and maintenance or repair of industrial electrical, battery, material-handling, automotive or similar equipment.
  • Experience using ERP systems for stock management and reconciliation.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, including safe use of hand tools and test instruments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and accurate digital record-keeping.
  • Ability to plan work and manage competing priorities independently.
  • Physical capability to meet role requirements with prescribed safety measures.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test and diagnose batteries, chargers and related equipment using approved fault-finding methods and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform authorised repairs, battery builds, component replacement and preventative maintenance.
  • Verify repairs via functional, charging and safety testing before release.
  • Identify warranty or non-conforming products and escalate findings as required.
  • Receive, inspect and record incoming stock; maintain accurate inventory in ERP.
  • Store batteries, chargers and parts; manage stock rotation and damaged goods.
  • Coordinate dispatch and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with field service installations, preventive maintenance and repairs at customer sites.
  • Maintain service records and communicate progress to customers; obtain sign-off.
  • Maintain warespace, tools and equipment; ensure safety and housekeeping.

Role Overview

The primary function of the role is warehouse-based diagnosis and repair of industrial batteries, chargers and associated equipment for EnerSys Industrial Mobility Solutions in Queensland. The second function is warehouse stock management and control, including the receipt, storage, maintenance, preparation and dispatch of batteries, chargers and parts. The third function is to provide occasional field-service support when operationally required, working within applicable licences, training and competence.

Main Responsibilities

Warehouse-based diagnosis and repair

  • Inspect, test and diagnose batteries, chargers and related equipment using approved fault-finding methods and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform authorised repairs, battery builds, component replacement and corrective maintenance in line with technical procedures.
  • Verify repairs through functional, charging and safety testing before release.
  • Identify warranty or non-conforming products and elevate findings as required.

Warehouse stock management and control

  • Receive, inspect and record incoming stock, reporting discrepancies or damage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, stock locations, transfers and adjustments within the ERP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts and stocktakes, investigating variances as required.
  • Store batteries, chargers, parts and dangerous goods in accordance with approved requirements.
  • Manage stock rotation and quarantine damaged or non-conforming items.

Occasional field service support

  • Assist with installations, preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment replacements at customer sites.
  • Diagnose, repair, install and commission equipment within authorised competencies.
  • Maintain accurate service records, communicate progress and obtain customer sign-off on completed work.
  • Manage tools, parts and equipment required for field activities.

Order preparation, packing and dispatch

  • Pick, prepare, test and label products in accordance with customer orders and work orders.
  • Pack and secure equipment to meet transport, dangerous goods and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate freight and dispatch activities and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Escalate shortages, delays, damage or other issues affecting customer deliveries.

Administration, facilities and equipment

  • Review work requests, confirm scope, priorities and completion requirements.
  • Accurately record labour, parts, stock movements, serial numbers and test results in company systems.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping, safe storage practices and operational work areas.
  • Complete inspections of forklifts, lifting equipment, tools and test instruments, reporting defects and removing unsafe equipment from service where required.
Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake occasional customer-site and regional travel.
  • Current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift (LF).
  • Demonstrated experience in warehousing, inventory control, technical service, maintenance or repair of industrial electrical, battery, material-handling, automotive or similar equipment.
  • Practical experience receiving, locating, picking, packing, dispatching and reconciling stock using an inventory, warehouse or ERP system.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, including safe use of hand tools, power tools and electrical test instruments within competency.
  • Practical fault-finding capability and the ability to interpret technical instructions, wiring information and service documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, numeracy and accurate digital record keeping.
  • Ability to plan work, manage competing warehouse priorities and work independently while remaining connected to the broader team.
  • Ability to safely perform the inherent physical requirements of the role using prescribed controls and mechanical aids.
  • Good skills in Problem solving.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision.

Preferred:

  • Relevant electrical, automotive electrical, mechanical, electro‑mechanical or industrial trade qualification.
  • Experience with motive‑power lead‑acid or lithium‑ion batteries, industrial chargers and battery monitoring systems.
  • Experience with cycle counting, stocktakes, serialised inventory, non‑conforming stock and dangerous‑goods storage.
  • Queensland electrical work licence or other relevant licence/authorisation.
  • White Card, First Aid, Working at Heights, EWP or dangerous‑goods awareness training.
  • Experience using mobile field‑service, asset‑management or ERP systems.
