It takes courage to create spaces where people can focus on recovery.

At Richmind WA, every role contributes to a person's recovery journey. Sometimes that means offering a listening ear. Other times, it means ensuring the environment is clean, welcoming and safe. As a Service Attendant at Ngulla Mia, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes, helping create a space where people experiencing mental health challenges can focus on rebuilding their lives with dignity and confidence.

About the Role

We're looking for a reliable, motivated and community-minded Service Attendant to join our residential mental health service in East Perth.

In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the site while supporting the day-to-day operations of the service. Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleaning schedules across resident, communal and administration areas
  • Complete laundry duties, including collection and distribution of linen
  • Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and shared spaces to a high standard
  • Replenish cleaning, hygiene and beverage supplies as required
  • Maintain outdoor and common areas to health and hygiene standards
  • Complete documentation and reporting requirements accurately and on time
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support the smooth operation of the service
  • Assist with kitchen and catering tasks where required at Ngulla Mia
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful and recovery-focused environment for residents
About the Service

Ngulla Mia, meaning "Our Place", provides safe, supported accommodation for adults experiencing mental distress who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service supports up to 32 residents and offers a recovery-focused program designed to help people build wellbeing, independence and connection within their community.

About You

You'll be someone who takes pride in your work, enjoys working as part of a team and understands the importance of creating welcoming spaces for others.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality or a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to respect, inclusion and recovery-focused practice
  • A willingness to work within a mental health residential setting

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working in community services, health, aged care or disability services
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices

This role is fixed term until May 2027.

The roster is Saturday and Sunday 5.30pm – 9.30pm and every second Wednesday 6pm – 10pm.
