Job summary

Richmind WA in Karratha is looking for a passionate Peer Support Worker to provide one-on-one support using lived experience of mental health recovery. You will help clients identify and work towards personal recovery goals with a focus on hope, empowerment and connection.

You will join a recovery‑oriented, person‑centred team, contribute to planning, maintain records, and help individuals build community connections and natural supports within the wider service network.

Qualifications

  • Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, used safely in a professional setting.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work in recovery-oriented, person-centred practice.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative mindset within a multidisciplinary team.

What you'll do
  • Provide one-on-one peer support using your lived experience of mental health recovery.
  • Support people to identify and work towards their recovery goals.
  • Foster hope, empowerment, connection and self-advocacy.
  • Assist individuals to build community connections and strengthen natural supports.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, community partners and support networks.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service planning and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
  • A minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent recognised Peer Work qualification)
  • Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, with the ability to use this experience purposefully and safely in a professional setting.
  • A strong commitment to recovery-oriented and person-centred practice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of boundaries, confidentiality and professional practice.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them.
