Job summary

Filtronic is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Cambridge team. You will design, develop and integrate embedded software for RF and communications products across the full lifecycle. Focus on Zephyr-based development with exposure to embedded Linux, Yocto, and secure communications.

You’ll work with RF, FPGA, hardware and systems engineers to deliver robust data and control interfaces and secure software implementations. Relocation assistance is available if required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in low-level embedded software and firmware.
• Experience with Zephyr in embedded environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, develop and maintain embedded firmware using Zephyr and bare-metal environments.
• Develop embedded Linux systems including Yocto-based platforms.
• Prototype board bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Design and maintain board-to-board interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, RS422).
• Develop networking interfaces and services (REST APIs, SNMP, OpenAPI).
• Implement secure communications and firmware updates.
• Lead root-cause analysis and technical troubleshooting.
