Job summary

McDonald’s Australia is seeking a Manager, Workplace Relations on a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead complex workplace investigations, advise leaders on sensitive matters and shape policies across the legal and people teams. The role is hybrid, based in Thornleigh, NSW, and involves partnering with Legal, People and Operations to ensure compliant and effective outcomes.

You will oversee investigations from start to finish, coach leaders, and translate data into practical recommendations

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex workplace investigations and employee relations matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and Modern Awards.
• Excellent writing and report-writing skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify risks from data.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, HR or Law is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex workplace investigations from start to finish, including conduct, bullying, harassment and discrimination matters.
• Coach leaders on performance, misconduct, grievances and workplace concerns.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Modern Awards and enterprise agreements.
• Spot trends and risks in data and provide actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
• Review and build workplace relations policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Design and deliver training, support Workplace Relations Specialists and lead quality assurance.
• Partner with Legal, People and Operations to ensure consistent outcomes.
