Job summary

Hooker & Heijden in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Personal Injury Paralegal to join its NSW Workers Compensation team. This hands-on role involves progressing a substantial caseload and working closely with solicitors and an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.

You will handle disputed benefits, impairment claims and proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission, review medical records, draft material, and communicate with insurers, employers and clients while meeting NSW

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
• Strong NSW Workers Compensation knowledge and NSW statutory scheme.
• Experience with s60, s66, and s78 disputes and IRO funding applications.
• Experience before the Personal Injury Commission.

Responsibilities

• Assist progression of NSW workers compensation files from instructions to resolution.
• Review insurer dispute notices, work capacity decisions and evidence.
• Prepare applications for proceedings in the Personal Injury Commission.
• Draft briefs, letters, and supporting evidence for experts.
• Liaise with insurers, employers, medical practitioners and clients.
• Manage competing deadlines and progress matters efficiently.
