At Queensland Rail, we're committed to delivering a safe, reliable and sustainable rail network that keeps Queensland moving. We are seeking a Senior Work Management Adviser to play a critical role in embedding best-practice work management across our South East Queensland Assets business.

This is an influential role where you will partner with frontline maintenance teams, leaders and planners to strengthen work management capability, improve SAP PM process compliance, and drive continuous improvement outcomes that enhance safety, reliability and asset performance.

About the Role

As the Senior Work Management Adviser, you will lead capability development and the adoption of best-practice work management processes across the maintenance lifecycle. Working closely with planners, schedulers, supervisors and maintainers, you'll provide coaching, guidance and practical support to improve the quality and consistency of planning, scheduling, execution and completion of maintenance activities within SAP PM.

You will also be responsible for developing competency frameworks, assessing capability, analysing performance trends, and identifying opportunities to strengthen work management maturity across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor planners, schedulers, supervisors and maintainers on the effective application of SAP PM work management processes.
  • Deliver workshops, onboarding programs, refresher training and practical workplace support to build capability and confidence.
  • Lead the implementation and sustained adoption of best-practice work management standards and processes.
  • Develop, maintain and assess competency requirements for key work management roles.
  • Identify capability gaps and implement targeted coaching and development initiatives.
  • Partner with operational teams to resolve SAP PM work management challenges and improve business outcomes.
  • Promote compliance with governance requirements and reinforce desired work management behaviours.
  • Maintain and continuously improve work management standards, competency frameworks, training materials and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor, analyse and interpret work management metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning effectiveness, execution performance and asset reliability.
About You

You are a highly skilled work management professional with a passion for coaching, developing others and driving sustainable process improvement. You have the credibility and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels and can translate technical work management principles into practical workplace outcomes.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Demonstrate:
  • Exceptional coaching, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence behavioural change and embed best-practice work management principles.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing and delivering learning, training and capability development programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP PM work management processes and maintenance management within an asset-intensive environment.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end maintenance work management lifecycle, including work identification, planning, prioritisation, scheduling, execution and closure.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret performance data, identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Experience developing competency frameworks, conducting capability assessments and translating findings into targeted development plans.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
What's on Offer

At Queensland Rail, you'll be part of an organisation that values safety, inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to influence how maintenance work is managed across a critical transport network while helping develop the capability of our people and teams.

We offer:

  • Competitive remuneration and benefits.
  • Flexible working opportunities.
  • Professional development and career growth.
  • A supportive and inclusive team culture.
