Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior/Associate Planning Engineer to deliver planning and design for water and wastewater networks in Australia. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients for best-for-client outcomes.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Engineering and Chartered status, with 6–10+ years in water engineering. You’ll apply hydraulic modelling, MS Excel-based analytics, and cost estimation, contributing to asset management strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Chartered status or working towards RPEQ within 12 months.
• 6–10+ years in water engineering (planning/design) with consultancy experience.
• Proven leadership in major water projects and client engagement.
• Advanced knowledge of water/wastewater planning, hydraulics, and asset renewal.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assessments of water supply and sewerage networks, incl. renewals and population growth.
• Deliver feasibility studies, options analyses, and functional designs for complex projects.
• Prepare business cases meeting regulator requirements for prudency and efficiency.
• Oversee risk management and Safety‑in‑Design across major projects.
• Coordinate inputs from environment, planning, cost estimation, and constructability teams.
