The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of water utilities, project management experience, and a track record of successful client relationships. About Our Asset Management & Planning (AMP) Team

Our national AMP team delivers consulting services across strategic planning, master planning, detailed planning, business cases, and asset management for water and sewer networks, pumping stations, conveyance systems, and broader water infrastructure. We partner with major clients including Urban Utilities, Coliban Water, Melbourne Water, and SA Water. With a strong pipeline of work and impressive backlog, we offer both stability and the opportunity to be selective in the projects we pursue.

The Opportunity – Associate / Principal Planning Engineer

Reporting to the Water Section Executive, Asset Management & Planning, you will play a key role in technical delivery, client engagement, and business development.

This is a strategic leadership position, where you will help strengthen our pipeline, lead complex projects, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our Water business.

What You’ll Do

• Drive business development and contribute to winning work aligned with AMP services
• Lead the technical delivery of projects across a range of water programs
• Support and mentor team members, fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture
• Translate strategic plans into actionable delivery outcomes
• Build strong client relationships and represent WSP at industry events
