Job summary

Mineral Resources (MinRes) is seeking a Senior Water Engineer – Surface Water to lead surface water management across iron ore and lithium operations in Western Australia. The role reports to the Principal Surface Water Engineer and oversees studies, flood risk assessments, and operational performance checks across sites, with regular site visits from Osborne Park.

You will drive hydrological analysis (RORB), calibrate models, estimate PMP/PMF, and assess climate change impacts while working

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Water, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in hydrology and flood estimation, including RORB modelling, model calibration, PMP/PMF estimation and climate change assessment.
Extensive surface water engineering experience in WA mining/resources would be ideal.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of surface water engineering scopes across assigned sites.
Translate life-of-mmine/2-5 year plans into concept designs and work packages.
Analyse monitoring data and provide input on rainfall events and system performance.
Drive wet-season preparedness plans and post-event reviews.
Manage consultants and contractors to deliver quality outcomes.
Collaborate with Hydrogeology, Mine Planning, and Approvals teams for integrated outcomes.
