Job summary

SMEC is seeking an experienced engineer with landfill design experience to join the waste team in NSW. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, manage client relationships and drive service offerings across NSW, with 4+ years’ experience and a focus on waste infrastructure design.

You will contribute to landfill containment, leachate and gas management systems, and transfer stations, collaborating with senior engineers and other teams across the region.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in environmental/civil engineering in waste/landfill projects.
• Proven project management and client relationship skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver landfill and waste infrastructure design projects (containment cells, capping, lining systems, transfer stations).
• Oversee construction phase services including contract administration and site supervision.
• Manage projects and budgets for waste infrastructure initiatives.
• Provide engineering input into landfills, materials recycling facilities and resource recovery centres.
