Lake House is seeking an experienced Senior Waiting Staff member to join our team in Daylesford. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our front-of-house service team and deliver premier dining experiences.

You will help set service standards and ensure every guest interaction reflects our hospitality and quality. We value leaders who mentor junior staff, drive guest satisfaction, and collaborate with the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience as waiting staff in a professional, upmarket dining establishment.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor, train, and motivate junior staff members.
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering memorable dining experiences.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine pairing and menu knowledge.
• Outstanding communication skills with guests and team members.
• Current RSA certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive service while maintaining highest standards of professionalism.
• Take orders accurately with detailed knowledge of menu and wine list.
• Ensure tables are set correctly and maintained throughout service.
• Coordinate with kitchen to ensure timely delivery of meals.
• Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally.
• Maintain knowledge of current menu items, specials and promotions.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of service items.
• Support team during peak periods and special events.

As Senior Waiting Staff, you will be instrumental in setting the standard for service excellence, and ensuring that every guest interaction reflects our commitment to hospitality and quality. Key responsibilities

• Delivering outstanding, attentive service to guests whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy
• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, with detailed knowledge of our menu offerings and wine selection
• Ensuring tables are set correctly and maintained throughout service, with meticulous attention to detail
• Managing the pace of service and coordinating with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of meals
• Handling guest queries, requests, and complaints with professionalism, discretion, and a solutions-focused approach
• Maintaining knowledge of current menu items, specials, and promotional offerings to enhance the guest experience
• Assisting with inventory management, restocking of service items, and maintaining a clean and organised dining area
• Supporting the restaurant team during peak service periods and special events

What we’re looking for

• Ability to remain calm and composed during busy service periods, with strong problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it
• Physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods and carry items safely
• Excellent time management and organisational abilities
• A professional appearance and polished demeanour
• Preferred: Experience in a fine dining or Michelin-star environment would be advantageous
