Job summary

Tabcorp is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to advise on wagering regulation, commercial strategy, and complex legal matters across products, operations and partnerships. This 12‑month contract offers broad remit and opportunities to shape regulatory outcomes and delivery timelines.

You will partner with senior leaders, manage external counsel, and influence decisions across gaming regulations, customer matters and industry relationships. This is a high‑impact legal leadership role.

Qualifications

• Substantial legal experience advising regulated or consumer‑facing businesses.
• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience interpreting regulatory obligations and advising on compliance matters.
• Sound judgement with ability to influence senior decision‑makers.
• Interest in wagering and racing; experience in regulated industries valued.

Responsibilities

• Advise on wagering products, operations and customer matters and identify legal issues.
• Partner with senior leaders on regulatory and government‑facing matters and translate obligations into clear advice.
• Negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.
• Advise on arrangements with sporting bodies, racing organisations and other industry participants.
• Guide the business on customer complaints, compliance and conduct matters.
• Manage external counsel, legal budgets and service delivery.
