Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a senior Verification & Validation Engineering Specialist to lead V&V strategies across major defence programs. You will mentor engineers, guide complex integration challenges and provide technical assurance throughout the lifecycle.

You will work with senior technical leaders and customers, shape capability, and advance V&V standards while maintaining NV1 security clearance and export controls compliance.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of Defence industry experience across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Subject Matter Expert in domains such as System Architecture, System Integration/V&V, C2, Radar or Communications.
• Proven senior technical leadership across large-scale Defence programs.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering and V&V methodologies and technical assurance.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring capabilities.
• NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information.
• Proficiency in AI prompting related to this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical authority and specialist V&V guidance across complex Defence programs, supporting critical engineering and delivery decisions.
• Lead and assure V&V strategies, methodologies and key artefacts across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
• Guide the resolution of complex system integration, verification and validation challenges across large-scale systems and System-of-Systems environments.
• Provide independent technical reviews and assurance across engineering plans, program reviews, bids, governance and major technical milestones.
• Engage and influence senior customers, technical authorities, program leaders and multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve robust engineering outcomes.
• Shape organisational V&V capability through technical mentoring, thought leadership, process improvement and advancement of engineering methods, tools and practices.
