Job summary

JK Williams is seeking an experienced Utility Locator & CCTV Inspection Technician to join our Surveying team in NSW. Reporting to the Survey Manager, you will locate and map underground services ahead of construction and CCTV inspect sewer and stormwater conduits on subdivision projects.

This senior, hands-on field role combines two specialist skill sets. You will work with site personnel, service authorities, councils and clients across multiple projects, ensuring safe, accurate asset data and

Qualifications

Qualification in utility locating, mapping or surveying or equivalent experience.
NWPNET059 / NWPNET017 to supervise and report on conduit inspections.
Knowledge of AS 5488-2022, WSA 05-2020 and the civil construction industry.
White Card and a current Class C driver licence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CCTV reporting/asset data software.

Responsibilities

Locate, trace and verify services using EM locators, GPR, sondes and wands, recorded to AS 5488-2022 quality levels.
Clear work areas ahead of earthworks, trenching, boring and road construction, with care around live services.
Identify and elevate clashes between existing services and proposed designs early.
CCTV inspect new and existing sewer and stormwater, coding and grading defects to WSA 05-2020.
Prepare inspection reports and asset data packages, and re-inspect after rectification through to handover.
Carry out all confined space work in line with procedures, including gas testing and permits.
