Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Senior Urban Designer to provide specialist urban design and heritage advice across planning matters for the Sutherland Shire. Reporting to the Team Leader Strategic Planning, you will lead place plans, strategic studies and policy initiatives to guide future development, collaborating with Council, agencies, consultants and the community.

You will manage consultants, contribute to high-quality outcomes, and engage with stakeholders throughout the process.

Qualifications

Strong background in urban design and strategic planning with heritage focus.
Proven ability in engaging with community stakeholders and partners.
Experience with place planning, master plans, and policy development.

Responsibilities

Providing urban design and heritage advice on strategic planning and development proposals.
Preparing and reviewing urban design studies, master plans and place planning projects.
Supporting the development of Council strategies, policies and planning controls.
Managing consultants and project delivery.
Representing Council in stakeholder and community engagement activities.
