Institch Design & Upholstery in Ingleburn, NSW is seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join its growing production team. The role involves upholstering sofas, chairs, and commercial furniture, preparing components, and working from drawings to ensure quality.

The ideal candidate has upholstery experience or a relevant trade qualification, strong staple-gun skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• Previous upholstery experience or a relevant trade qualification.
• Experience upholstering and preparing sofas and other furniture.
• Strong staple-gun skills and comfort with hand/power tools.
• Experience in an industrial, furniture-production or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safe manual-handling practices.
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Upholstering custom sofas, chairs and commercial furniture.
• Preparing furniture and components for upholstery.
• Cutting, fitting and securing upholstery materials.
• Operating staple guns and other hand and power tools.
• Working from drawings, specifications and reference samples.
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Working independently and collaboratively to meet production deadlines.
• Following workplace safety and manual-handling procedures.
