Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Head of Mining Operations for a remote FIFO mining site in Central Province, Papua New Guinea. You will direct underground mining activities, drive development and production, and lead large multidisciplinary teams to meet safety and production targets.

The role requires a Mining Engineering degree, PNG CoC eligibility, a minimum of 10 years in underground mining with 5 years in senior leadership, and proven contractor management in remote settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities in a remote FIFO mining environment.
• Excellent knowledge of mine planning, production scheduling, and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for underground mining operations, including development, production, ground support, ventilation, and mine services.
• Collaborate with Technical Services and Geology to align plans with production targets and business goals.
• Champion safety and ensure compliance with mining legislation and safety management systems.
• Oversee budgets, costs, capex planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Lead and develop Mining Superintendents, Shift Bosses, Supervisors, Engineers, and field personnel.
