Job summary

EMtek Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for a major underground mining project in Brisbane. You will lead bid development, shape electrical scope, build estimates, and craft the execution approach for delivery from concept to commissioning.

The role requires heavy underground electrical design experience, including HV distribution, reticulation, earthing, and protection coordination, with collaboration across disciplines and client teams.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years’ electrical engineering experience, including 4 years underground mine electrical infra experience.
• Underground reticulation design experience including HV distribution, underground substations and earthing.
• Bid and proposal experience with ownership of scope in competitive tender.
• Evidence of design work on switchrooms, MCCs, LV/HV, VSDs, transformers and earthing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and instrumentation input into bids, proposals and tender submissions.
• Develop assumptions, qualifications, exclusions and risk register behind the price.
• Take underground electrical designs from concept through to IFC deliverables.
• Design underground power reticulation and prepare power system studies.
• Prepare designs and calculations; deliver SLDs, schematics, cable schedules and datasheets.
• Support commissioning of protection devices, VSDs, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and client site electrical team.
• Provide technical review and mentoring within the team.
