Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Operational Transport Forecaster based in Macquarie Park, NSW. You will develop and update micro models, run scenarios and deliver forecast models to inform planning and project outcomes.

You will interpret outputs, provide evidence-based recommendations, and collaborate with stakeholders across a complex, multi-modal transport environment. Hybrid work arrangements apply, with a fixed-term full-time contract.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• recognised as a transport modelling specialist skilled at developing operational and traffic models and interpreting modelling outputs.
• Experience in operational transport forecasting and stakeholder collaboration to deliver accurate modelling outcomes.
• Strong experience using AIMSUN and Python or other coding languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update micro models and run multiple scenarios to assess transport network impacts for oversize overmass movements.
• Develop operational transport forecasts and traffic, meso and micro models to inform future planning.
• Deliver robust network, route and intersection analysis and model assurance in a multi-modal environment.
• Interpret modelling outputs and provide evidence-based recommendations to support planning and project outcomes.
