Job description

$81,915 to $94,263 per annum + 11.5% Super

Facilities Management and Engineering Services team consist of multiple trade groups performing planned and reactive maintenance activities primarily to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

The Carpentry trades group consists of small team carrying out maintenance and repair work to hospital and related health care facilities.

The Team works closely with other internal trade staff and administration staff to achievemaintenance and repairs to healthcare buildings.

The Role:

As a member of the Facilities and Engineering Team, the occupant is responsible for:

Supervising and coordinating carpentry trades, painters and operational staff to ensure effective and efficient services are provided.

Carrying out construction, maintenance and repair work required on all hospital buildings to appropriate standards to ensure the safety of public, staff and patients.

Ensuring all plant and equipment under the control of this position is maintained in accordance with mandatory, statutory and local requirements.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated sound experience in, and extensive knowledge of, carpentry trade services including the ability to modify, commission, repair and maintain services and equipment within a health care environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise own work and the work of other trades staff to accomplish project timeframes and make responsible recommendations along with the ability to keep and maintain records.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff at all levels from various organisations along with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:$81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance withPublic Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
