Job summary

CSC Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation is seeking a Senior Tester to lead end-to-end test planning within its Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on CRM, Mobile Publisher and Web Self-Service platforms.

You will conduct advanced manual, API, UI and mobile testing, support test automation, and contribute to quality improvement across the testing lifecycle. This role involves mentoring junior testers and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote/hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in software testing across multiple testing types.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced).
• TOSCA or Xray certification.

Responsibilities

• Review functional specs and user stories for clarity and testability.
• Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases.
• Execute tests across system, integration, regression and acceptance phases.
• Document and evaluate results, raise defects and track them.
• Support test strategy adherence and process improvements.

Senior Tester

Position Type: 12-month Fixed TermLocation: Remote Australia

What the role will offer you

As a Senior Tester, you will independently lead end-to-end test planning and define testing scopes based on complex business requirements across CSC’s Salesforce ecosystem, with a primary focus on Salesforce CRM, Mobile Publisher and Web Self-Service platforms. You will lead advanced manual, API, web user interface and mobile application testing, while contributing to and supporting the team’s test automation and performance testing initiatives. Using tools such as TOSCA, Xray and Jira, you will promote quality assurance best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the testing lifecycle.

What you will do in the role

• Review functional specifications and user stories for clarity, completeness and testability.
• Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases aligned with defined test strategies and business requirements.
• Execute manual and automated test cases across various test phases, including system, integration, regression and acceptance testing.
• Document and evaluate test results, raising and tracking defects where appropriate.
• Ensure testing activities align with the overarching test strategy and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of test strategies where required.
• Escalate risks or issues to the Delivery Manager and relevant team members when estimated completion dates may not be met or defect resolution processes are delayed.
• Participate in and support testing compliance activities, ensuring all faults and issues are recorded and tracked through relevant vendors to successful resolution and re-testing.
• Share knowledge of testing methodologies, domain expertise and tools, including Jira and TOSCA, with team members to support skill development and team capability.
• Support and contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing testing efficiency, effectiveness and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers and project stakeholders, to ensure systems meet agreed requirements.

Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time to time, dependent on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in software testing, including acceptance, system, regression and SIT testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced).
• TOSCA or Xray certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test lifecycle principles and structural test design techniques.
• Strong experience using Jira.
• Proficiency with TOSCA, Xray or equivalent test management tools.
• Basic proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Salesforce Web Self-Service or Experience Cloud solutions.
• Experience testing integrations and APIs, ideally using MuleSoft or similar integration platforms.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Experience in financial services applications, including banking, payments, superannuation, insurance or regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior or contract testers and develop high-quality system documentation.
• Experience contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and team capability.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and exposure to deployment tools such as Jenkins, Git and Bitbucket.
