Job summary

Cochlear Limited in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Test Systems Engineer to sustain and enhance manufacturing electrical test systems for PCAs and IEAs. You will develop test software and hardware, drive capacity and efficiency improvements, and troubleshoot complex interactions across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Engineering and hands-on LabVIEW experience, plus strong debugging and documentation skills in a regulated manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field from Engineers Australia-recognised institution.
• Electrical circuit knowledge: schematic capture, hardware design.
• Software/firmware operation knowledge: NI LabVIEW highly desirable; C/C++/Python advantageous.
• Documentation skills for configuration and change controls in a regulated environment.
• Electrical circuit debugging, fault finding, root cause analysis.
• Cross-functional coordination with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance and R&D teams.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters).
• Ideal: LabVIEW software development; Altium Designer; ISO 13485/21 CFR Part 821 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop test software and electrical hardware for new product/system types.
• Lead test system capacity scalability initiatives from concept to production.
• Debug and fault diagnose electrical test systems in production.
• Identify root causes involving hardware and software interactions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring as test systems expert.
• Manage test system configurations and change documentation for regulatory compliance.
