Job summary

XPT Software in Western Australia seeks a Principal Tester to lead planning, execution and delivery of testing across programs and operations. You will act as a trusted testing advisor, shaping test strategy, data suites, environments and results management.

You will drive test automation improvements using Playwright and Postman, collaborate with PMs, developers and QA peers, and ensure QA activities align with WHS and governance requirements while advancing Enterprise test practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in testing software, including design, execution and defect management.
• Strong analytical skills with a senior testing background.
• Experience developing test strategies and plans for IT projects and their execution.
• Power system operation or power market knowledge preferable.
• Proficiency with SQL and testing web-based/applications, APIs and data migration.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright and Postman.
• Experience with C#, Jira and PractiTest.

Responsibilities

• Drive engagement with SMEs and stakeholders to align test strategy with critical power system software implementations.
• Ensure test data suites meet coverage requirements of plans and strategies.
• Verify environments support functional, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Execute release test plans, log and track defects.
• Collaborate with PMs, developers and QA to meet timelines while balancing coverage and risk.
• Support Production Readiness activities and material development.
• Act as SME for ongoing power system testing enhancements.
• Support WHS, anti-discrimination and competition/compliance acts.
