Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Principal Tester to lead the planning, execution and delivery of testing across major programs and operational activities in the power systems domain. The role requires expert testing, test planning and results management with strong automation and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience testing software, including design, execution and defect management.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and analytical skills in senior testing roles.
• Strong understanding of IT project testing principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive engagement with SMEs and internal stakeholders to align test strategy with power system operation software implementations.
• Ensure test data suites align with coverage requirements of test plans and strategies.
• Verify test environments are configured to support functional, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure test plans are executed and defects tracked in a defect management system; conduct manual and automation testing (UI, API, database).
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Leads to deliver software solutions and coordinate with integration and development teams to meet timelines while balancing coverage vs risk.
• Support Production Readiness activities and material development.
• Act as SME for ongoing support and enhancements for Power Systems.
• Support Workplace Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, and Competition and Consumer Acts.
