Job summary

Vocus is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, automate, monitor, and support critical telecom infrastructure underpinning carrier-grade services. This role ensures availability, security, and performance of systems supporting telecom operations, customer services, and management platforms.

You will lead administration of Red Hat Linux, virtualization, authentication services, monitoring, and automation, including Ansible and Python, with VMware and Red Hat Satellite.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in systems/infrastructure roles.
• Advanced Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• Strong Ansible automation and CM.
• Proficient in Python scripting.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter experience.
• Grafana monitoring and dashboards experience.
• MySQL database administration.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite.
• RADIUS authentication support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering/CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support highly available telecom infrastructure.
• Ensure stability and resilience across production, DR, and testing.
• Support OSS platforms, network management, authentication services, and customer apps.
• Join upgrades, maintenance, and tech refresh programs.
• Administer enterprise Linux environments and lifecycle management.
• Patch, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
• Use Red Hat Satellite for provisioning and patching.
• Develop and maintain Ansible automation to streamline deployments.
• Create Python scripts to boost efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and automation best practices.
• Support RADIUS and AAA platforms across networks.
• Collaborate with network engineering on AAA integrations.
• Troubleshoot authentication and integration issues.
• Manage VMware infrastructure including ESXi/vCenter and HA.
• Capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Design dashboards and monitoring with Grafana.
• Backup and MySQL replication management.
• Lead incident management and root-cause analysis.
• Support 24x7 on-call responsibilities.
• Security hardening and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to roadmaps.
