Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Geology, Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quarrying or construction materials industries.
• Experience leading product development and quality management in quarry environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, TMR, Austroads and ISO 17025 quality systems.

Job description

Your next opportunity:

Based in Stonyfell, provide technical leadership and specialist expertise across quarry operations and construction materials. Lead the development, optimisation, validation and commercialisation of quarry products, aggregates and manufactured sands to meet customer, project and specification requirements.

Your day will involve:

• Driving innovation through research, material investigations, laboratory testing, field trials and performance monitoring to improve product quality, durability and operational performance.
• Providing technical guidance on quarry products, material selection, specification compliance and engineering performance.
• Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, Transport and Main Roads (TMR) specifications, project requirements, NATA accreditation standards and company quality management systems.
• Analysing laboratory, production and operational performance data to identify opportunities for quality improvement, process optimisation, cost reduction and operational efficiency.
• Partnering with customers, consulting engineers, contractors, project stakeholders and internal teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.

What we are looking for:

• Degree, Diploma or equivalent industry experience in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Geology, Construction Materials, Quarrying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quarrying, construction materials or related heavy industry environments.
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, product development and quality management within a quarrying environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, TMR specifications, Austroads requirements and quality assurance systems.
• Experience in NATA-accredited laboratory environments and ISO 17025 quality systems.
• Proven experience in material testing, data analysis, technical investigations and performance evaluation.
• Demonstrated expertise in aggregates, manufactured sands, roadbase and quarry products.
