Job summary

Amentum is seeking a LAND 6504 Air Defence Capability SME to assist in capability definition, operational analysis and performance evaluation. You will provide specialist input on launchers, missiles, radar, and C2 systems to support acquisition decisions and capability architecture products.

The role requires NV1 clearance (NV2 preferred), a minimum of 6 years’ defence experience, and proven delivery in complex acquisition projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify capability system, sub-systems and constituent elements for LAND 6504 solution.
• Collect and analyse capability performance data, technical information and operational concepts for candidate capability solutions.
• Support capability assessment activities with Defence, Industry, OEM and FMS stakeholders and provide specialist advice during capability selection and requirements development.
• Assess launcher, missile, radar and C2 capabilities against LAND 6504 requirements and objectives.
• Conduct capability trade studies, option analysis and technical assessments to support acquisition decisions.
• Assess operational effectiveness across various threat environments and readiness requirements.
• Support development of Functional Performance Specifications (FPS) and Operational Concept Documents (OCD).
• Identify interoperability requirements and integration considerations across Joint Fires, Battle Management Systems, tactical data links, ADF and coalition networks.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies to support capability effectiveness and acquisition outcomes.

The LAND 6504 Air Defence Capability SME resources will assist development of the LAND 6504 capability definition, operational analysis, capability assessments, system performance evaluation and technical assurance activities Combined Pass approval activities. The Air Defence SMEs will provide specialist advice across air defence capability elements including launchers, missiles, radar and provide input into command and control systems, engagement management and integrated MRGBAD System.

Role :

• Identify capability system, sub-systems and constituent elements included within the LAND 6504 capability solution.
• Collect and analyse capability performance data, technical information and operational employment concepts for candidate capability solutions.
• Support capability assessment activities with key Defence, Industry, OEM and FMS stakeholders and provide specialist advice during capability selection and requirements development activities.
• Assess launcher, missile, radar and command and control capabilities against LAND 6504 operational requirements and capability objectives.
• Conduct capability trade studies, option analysis and technical assessments to support acquisition decision-making.
• Assess operational effectiveness considering different threat environments, force structures, readiness requirements and operational scenarios.
• Support development of Functional Performance Specifications (FPS), Operational Concept Documents (OCD) and capability architecture products.
• Support development of
• Assess and support interoperability requirements and integration considerations across Joint Fires, Battle Management Systems (BMS), tactical data links, ADF and coalition networks.
• Identify technical, operational and capability risks and recommend mitigation strategies to support capability effectiveness and acquisition outcomes.
• Support development of engineering evidence, technical recommendations and capability assessments required for Combined Pass activities.

Mandatory requirements:

• - Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2. (NV2 Clearance preferred).
• - Must be able to work from Brindabella Business Park 5 days per week, CBR location preferred.
• - Relevant experience undertaking role responsibilities.
• - Minimum 6 years’ experience, preferably within Defence.
• - Experience in complex acquisition projects.
