Job summary

Legeneering is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in the Perth CBD and Henderson, on a permanent full-time basis. You will manage and improve our Microsoft environment, endpoints, cloud platforms and security while supporting day-to-day IT services.

Work across two locations with autonomy and deliver high-quality IT operations, incident resolution and project delivery, ensuring business continuity and resilience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support or a comparable Information Technology role.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience administering enterprise Microsoft environments including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Ability to independently investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple technology domains.

Legeneering currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in the Perth CBD and Henderson, you will need to be able to work across both locations on a permanent full-time basis.

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the operational management, administration, continual improvement and support of Legeneering's technology environment. Working closely with the IT Manager, the role provides senior technical capability across infrastructure, endpoint management, Microsoft cloud platforms, service delivery and cyber security, while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day delivery and support of Information Technology services.

The role owner is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, exercising sound technical judgement and taking ownership of assigned technology platforms, operational functions, incidents and technical outcomes through to resolution. The employee must remain capable and willing to support the broader Information Technology function where required, ensuring business continuity and resilience through cross-functional collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities Overview:

The successful candidate will contribute to the following areas:

Information Technology Operations

• Deliver senior technical administration and hands-on support across the organisation's technology environment.
• Take ownership of incidents, service requests and technical issues through investigation, resolution, escalation and closure.
• Provide technical escalation and guidance for complex infrastructure, endpoint and end-user technology issues.
• Support day-to-day Information Technology activities including user, access, endpoint, application and technology administration.
• Maintain the operational reliability, availability, security and supportability of Information Technology services.
• Contribute to the continual improvement and maturity of Information Technology operations.

Infrastructure & Platform Administration

• Administer, maintain and improve assigned infrastructure, cloud, identity, endpoint and technology platforms.
• Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory and associated technology services.
• Support endpoint provisioning, configuration, application deployment, patching, compliance and lifecycle management.
• Perform routine infrastructure administration, monitoring, backup verification and operational health activities.
• Investigate and remediate infrastructure, endpoint, identity, application and connectivity issues.
• Ensure assigned platforms remain secure, reliable, supportable and appropriately documented.

Service Delivery

• Support the delivery of high-quality Information Technology services across the organisation.
• Provide hands-on technical support across end-user, endpoint and infrastructure services as required.
• Resolve incidents and service requests in accordance with departmental priorities and service expectations.
• Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers where external support or escalation is required.

Cyber Security & Technology Resilience

• Support the implementation and ongoing operation of cyber security controls across the organisation's technology environment.
• Assist with endpoint, identity, infrastructure and Microsoft security configuration and remediation activities.
• Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, access control and security improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and technology resilience activities.
• Support governance, compliance and security initiatives, including Essential Eight and other applicable organisational or customer requirements.

Technology Enablement & Continuous Improvement

• Drive continual improvement across assigned technology functions through standardisation, automation and operational uplift.
• Identify repetitive or inefficient operational activities suitable for automation or process improvement.
• Utilise scripting and automation, including PowerShell where appropriate, to improve administration, consistency and efficiency.
• Reduce technical debt while improving the maturity, resilience and supportability of the technology environment.

Projects & Technical Delivery

• Deliver technical work packages associated with Information Technology projects and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in technical planning, solution implementation, testing, deployment and operational transition.
• Take ownership of assigned technical project activities and deliverables.
• Support infrastructure, endpoint, cloud, security and technology modernisation initiatives.
• Ensure new or changed technology services are appropriately documented and transitioned into ongoing operational support.
• Contribute technical expertise and practical recommendations during solution planning and implementation.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, configuration records and operational procedures.
• Ensure assigned technology platforms and operational processes remain accurately documented.
• Document technical solutions, recurring issues and operational knowledge to support consistent service delivery

Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support or a comparable Information Technology role, including demonstrated experience operating at a senior technical level.

Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Demonstrated hands-on experience administering enterprise Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server and Active Directory

Demonstrated experience supporting both infrastructure and end-user technology within an operational Information Technology environment.

Demonstrated ability to independently investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple technology domains.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical issues and assigned technology services through to resolution or appropriate escalation.

Demonstrated experience with endpoint management, application deployment and modern device management practices.

Demonstrated understanding of enterprise networking, identity, access management, backup and infrastructure operations.

Demonstrated understanding of contemporary cyber security practices applicable to Microsoft, endpoint and infrastructure environments.

Ability to independently prioritise competing operational, project and support workloads.

Ability to build positive working relationships with users, stakeholders, vendors and other technical personnel

Ability and willingness to perform hands-on operational and end-user support activities as required within a small multidisciplinary Information Technology team.
