Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads in North Queensland seeks a Senior Surveyor to manage survey projects and deliver geospatial products across the project lifecycle from planning to management of the road network. You will lead geospatial services, advise on engineering survey, photogrammetry and related information acquisition, and contribute to project specifications and drawings.

The role requires a 3-year surveying degree or SBQ qualification with registration, a current Class C

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying or SBQ-eligible qualification.
• Evidence of degree or SBQ acceptance required at interview.
• A current Class C driver licence is mandatory.
• Pre-employment checks including criminal history screening are required.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
• Registration as a surveyor with SBQ is mandatory for permanent appointment.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of geospatial products and services for transport infrastructure projects.
• Provide authoritative advice on engineering survey, photogrammetry and geospatial information issues.
• Prepare project specifications, plans and drawings and coordinate open market bids and internal offers.
• Direct and coordinate multiple teams, and mentor staff to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
