Job summary

North Shore Veterinary Hospital, part of VetPartners, is a 24/7 emergency and referral hospital in Artarmon, Sydney. This Surgical Veterinary Nurse role focuses on delivering high-level peri-operative care within a supportive, high-standard team environment.

You will work alongside specialists in surgery and internal medicine, anaesthesia support and a referral nursing team, contributing to advanced surgical procedures and cross-department coordination.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or Vet Technician qualification).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in veterinary nursing, with exposure to surgery and anaesthesia.
• Ability to support surgical procedures and monitor patients through anaesthesia and recovery.
• Experience caring for compromised or critical patients.
• High level of organization and prioritisation in a busy environment.
• Clear, professional communication with vets, nurses and clients.
• Calm, capable presence during complex or time-critical cases.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide range of advanced surgical procedures.
• Ensure patients are prepared, monitored and recovered under supervision of vets.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging and cross-department coordination.
• Coordinate care across departments with clear communication to clinicians and clients.
• Deliver consistently high-quality surgical and peri-operative care.
