Job summary

North Shore Veterinary Hospital in Artarmon, Sydney, is seeking a Surgery-trained Veterinary Nurse to join our 24/7 emergency and referral team. You'll work alongside specialist vets and experienced nurses, supporting a wide range of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and postoperative care.

You will contribute to diagnostic imaging, patient support, and cross‑department coordination in a high‑standards hospital that values teamwork, clear protocols, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or Veterinary Technician qualification) is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ veterinary nursing experience with exposure to surgery and anaesthesia.
• Ability to support surgical procedures and monitor patients through anaesthesia and recovery.
• Excellent communication with vets, nurses and clients.

Responsibilities

• Support daily surgical service in a busy referral and emergency hospital.
• Collaborate with specialist and residency-trained veterinarians and anaesthesia staff.
• Participate in diagnostic imaging and critical patient support across departments.
• Coordinate care and communicate clearly with clinicians and clients.
