Job summary

ASC in Osborne, SA, seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Advisor to lead supplier QA across strategic partners, ensuring compliance with quality standards and supporting delivery of defence programs.

You will work with program, engineering and sourcing teams, drive risk management and continuous improvement, and represent QA in governance forums to achieve consistent supplier qualification and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade, technical, engineering or quality qualification; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and/or Diploma in Quality Auditing highly regarded.
• Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or other complex/heavy industry environments.
• Ability to interpret technical and engineering requirements, identify quality risks, assess compliance, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality assurance activities across strategic suppliers including planning and governance.
• Manage supplier quality performance and risk, including audits, CAPAs and issue escalation.
• Provide QA guidance to program, engineering, supply chain and suppliers on standards and best practices.
• Drive supplier capability and continuous improvement through coaching, process validation and inspections.
• Represent Quality Assurance in governance forums and coordinate across programs.

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking aSenior Supplier Quality Assurance Advisorto join our dynamic Supply Chain Capability and Quality Governance/Assurance Team to be based in Osborne, South Australia. This role plays a key part in ensuring supplier compliance with quality standards and supporting the delivery of complex programs within the defence sector. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality outcomes and contribute to national capability development.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality assurance activities across strategic suppliers, including planning, governance, qualification, capability assessments, and compliance with quality requirements.
• Manage supplier quality performance and risk, including audit programs, corrective and preventive actions, quality issue escalation, and mitigation strategies to support program delivery.
• Provide quality assurance guidance to program, engineering, supply chain, and supplier stakeholders on quality standards, compliance, and best practice.
• Drive supplier capability and continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, process validation, first article inspections, counterfeit prevention activities, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Represent Quality Assurance across governance forums and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent supplier qualification, risk management, and quality outcomes across programs.

About You

• Relevant trade, technical, engineering or quality qualification, with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and/or Diploma in Quality Auditing highly regarded.
• Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or other complex/heavy industry environments, with knowledge of quality assurance principles, standards, and auditing practices.
• Ability to interpret technical and engineering requirements, identify quality risks, assess compliance, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
