Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to plan, lead and control maintenance operations on major infrastructure projects in Sydney. You will ensure safety, high plant availability and adherence to the construction programme.

We require an electrical licence holder with extensive underground tunnelling or mining electrical experience, capable of mentoring a large team within a complex site environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical licence holder.
• Extensive experience in underground civil tunnelling or mining construction electrical networks and systems, both High Voltage and Low Voltage.
• Able to develop excellent supervisory skills and ability to lead and mentor in a large infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, lead and control site plant & machinery maintenance operations to meet the construction programme.
• Conduct daily prestart and weekly toolbox meetings to discuss safety and resolve issues.
• Ensure accurate shift handovers and mentor CGU-JV workers and contractors.
• Oversee apprentices and trainees, provide training and supervision according to learning outcomes.
• Manage day-to-day performance and development of employees, coaching and mentoring.
• Identify and resolve IR/ER issues and ensure materials and equipment meet quality requirements.
• Review drawings, programs, and plant specifications for the scope of work and assess changes.

About the role

To plan, organise, lead and control site plant & machinery maintenance operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring high plant availability, consistent in terms of and in order to ensure safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, community targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Superintendent/Project Manager in developing and monitoring short term program (3 week look ahead) and forecast associated with the scope of work/s;
• Conduct daily prestart and weekly toolbox meetings for direct work team to ensure safety is discussed, promoted and issues are resolved;
• Be responsible for accurate and effective shift handovers as required;
• Assist in the training of CGU-JV workers and contractors, i.e. induction and ongoing
• Ensure Apprentices and Trainees are mentored and supervised in accordance with their prescribed learning outcomes;
• Manage day to day performance and development of employees including effectively coaching and mentoring;
• Identify and resolve any IR/ER issues and
• Ensure materials and equipment delivered to site meets quality requirements
• Ensure any changes to the electrical system are assessed.
• Provide assistance in or undertake the investigation of electrical incidents
• Review and understand all drawings, programs, project / plant specifications and sequences of work for the specific scope of work.
