Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners in Adelaide are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a focus on temporary works to join our growing team. You will design and document temporary works, review calculations, and liaise with site teams to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

The role requires 5–10 years of structural experience, a civil or structural engineering degree, and proficiency with Strand7, IdeaStatica and SpaceGass, plus knowledge of Australian standards.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years' experience in structural engineering with a focus on temporary works.
• Good working knowledge of Australian standards and construction safety principles.
• Proficiency with Strand7, IdeaStatica and SpaceGass for analysis.
• Strong communication skills and hands-on problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Designing and documenting temporary works, including formwork, falsework, shoring, propping, crane bases, and access platforms.
• Developing construction methodologies and sequencing plans with site teams and contractors.
• Carrying out detailed structural analysis to ensure safe, compliant designs.
• Assessing material behavior under construction-stage conditions.
• Preparing and reviewing temporary works concept, schematic, and detailed designs.
• Visiting sites to inspect works and support construction teams with engineering guidance.
• Collaborating with engineers, drafters and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Reviewing technical reports, drawings and calculations for quality and accuracy.
