Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment in Sydney seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead design across complex building projects from concept through delivery. You will work with clients, architects and contractors while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring robust steel and concrete design.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct modelling and analyses, and ensure compliance with Australian Standards on residential, commercial, retail and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' structural engineering experience, including 3+ years in Australia.
• Consultancy experience preferred.
• Strong steel and concrete design experience.
• Experience across residential, commercial, retail and/or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Proficiency with software such as ETABS, RAM Concept, SPACEGASS, STAAD.Pro or PLAXIS.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder skills.
• Proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design across complex building projects.
• Undertake modelling, analysis, calculations and documentation.
• Design in steel and concrete.
• Work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
• Attend project meetings and site inspections.
• Review designs and ensure compliance with Australian Standards.
• Contribute to client relationships and business development.
